POSTSCRIPT AND SUMMARY

This book has attempted to show how all three approaches have something of value to contribute to the overall study of organizations, and how, in many cases, the approaches complement and reinforce each other. As the book moved from a study of the classical, to a study of human relations and systems, there was no suggestion that this was a movement from error to truth. Skill in designing an organization lies in selecting factors drawn from all the approaches that are appropriate to the specific situation under investigation.
