Model-Based Workshops

Models are often built interactively in facilitated modeling workshops, with subject matter experts talking about the business and a modeler changing the models on the fly. Workshops are group activities. Several subject matter experts—each with different knowledge and understanding—collectively build a model. Together they reach a common understanding.

We describe model-based workshops in two chapters. In this chapter we detail what a model-based workshop is, and in Chapter 9 we explain how to run one effectively.
