Getting the Best from Press Conferences

Going to a press conference can either be a day off or some of the hardest work you will ever do.

Public relations (PR) departmentsdon’t often discriminate between a story that is important to the press and a story that is important to their chairman. They should but they don’t, and it is sometimes difficult for an editor or TV assignment producer to determine how important the information presented at the conference will be from the words included in the invitation to attend.
