Use People’s Skills and Abilities

The pressures of a difficult situation can cause you to forget the individual strengths and skill sets of your staff. People can be a great source of innovative solutions to difficulties, and those with experience or specialist knowledge may have ideas to offer that you can build into the larger business continuity response. As part of effective communication, solicit views from a broad range of staff during planning to produce a variety of options; individuals may well have valuable skills or ideas that come to light only during an unusual disruption.
