I found that in researching pandemics, the potential enormity of the threat has proved to be a massive eye opener for me – something which I hope I have managed to successfully convey through the pages of this book. I would also like to think that I have learned a lot about virology, although in reality I have probably done nothing more than just scratch the surface of what I have found to be a fascinating subject.
