63. Let Your Client Leave Their Mark

Most of your clients want to feel like they have in some way influenced the work you are creating for them. Not only is it wise to let them think that, but it’s good practice to sometimes graciously accept their influence. However, many designers tend to be naturally defensive about their work. During client presentations, these types of designers go in with their armor on and shields up, ready to defend their design to the death if need be. Whether a client’s feedback is big or small, a battle will ensue where the designer will argue every point the client makes in order to keep their precious design intact.
