48. Beware the Red Dot
“Beware the Red Dot” is a quirky way of saying, “Make sure you reply quickly to email correspondence.” I have lived by this mantra for years, and I know that it has had a positive impact on many business relationships.
The red dot is the Mac Mail indicator that appears on the dock icon for your Mail application. The red dot goes away when you have no unread messages. Now obviously, some of you are PC users and may not have a red dot reminding you of unread messages. But the mantra is still the same: Reply quickly to email correspondence. This accomplishes a couple key purposes:
