16. I’m Not a Writer

I was recently interviewing a candidate for a design position at our company. In response to one of the interview questions, he naively said, “I’m not a writer.” I immediately thought (but did not say), “You want to be a graphic designer? That means you’re a designer, a writer, a programmer, a photographer, and sometimes an illustrator.”

As a graphic designer, you often have to fill in the holes left by your client’s inability to deliver necessary assets.
