8. Gripes Go Up
My mother-in-law is one of the most positive people I know. When the sun is shining she says things like, “Isn’t this the most beautiful day you have ever seen?” When it is pouring rain she shares comments like, “Have you ever seen a more beautiful rainstorm?” I teased her about this once, and she said simply, “That’s just how I feel.” Indeed, everyone who knows my mother-in-law would agree that her positivity is infectious and contagious.
As easily as positivity breeds positivity, negativity also breeds negativity. I’m not sure why, but the graphic design industry seems to have more than its fair share of grumpy workers.
