Android Wearables

Google released the Android Wear SDK at Google I/O 2014. It allows developers to write Android apps for watches. At the time of this writing there are a small number of these devices currently available, such as the LG G watch and the Moto 360. While an Android Wear watch is tethered to your phone, it is still an independent Android device running on a Linux kernel.

Just like a phone, you can turn on the developer options on an Android watch and enable debugging (see Figure 9-3), and then shell onto the device using the adb shell command.
