SEAndroid

Security Enhanced Linux, or SELinux, was created by the NSA and Red Hat to provide a secure Linux OS. Because Android is yet another flavor of Linux, it is no surprise that SELinux would morph or branch out into Security Enhanced Android, or SEAndroid. This enhances the Android system by adding SELinux support to the kernel and user space. While SEAndroid was installed in Android 4.3 it was in permissive mode, meaning that if any security errors were caught they were simply ignored. SEAndroid on Android 4.4, or KitKat, is now in enforced mode.
