Now that we’ve covered typography, that fundamental medium of software, let’s switch gears to multimedia. In this chapter, we’ll discuss how to integrate HTML5 audio and video into Windows Store apps as well as how to work with device-captured media and local photos, videos, and audio. We’ll also discuss some platform-specific features that Windows 8 provides to expand the capabilities of multimedia for Windows Store apps. Finally, we’ll discuss streaming user media to compatible network devices with Play To. By the time we’re done, you should have a solid foundation for adding all types of media to your apps.
