Using an ASP.NET Control in a Data View

In addition to formatting data values as ASP.NET and SharePoint controls so that they can write back to a data source, you can also format data values to prevent them from writing back to the data source. When you insert a set of data values as a Multiple Item Form in SharePoint, every field that can write back to the data source is formatted as either an ASP.NET control or a SharePoint control; however, there are cases in which you will want to write back only one field, and prevent users from being able to write back to the other fields in the data source.
