Formatting Values in a Data View as ASP.NET and SharePoint Controls
In the previous exercise, you inserted an ASP.NET control into your page, bound that control to an SPDataSource data source, and then filtered a data view based on that control’s value. However, there are also times when you will want to leverage the power of ASP.NET from inside a data view by inserting a control directly into the XSLT for the view. For example, you might have a view of your products list on a page and want to be able to bulk edit the items in this view. In addition, you might want to be able to see the current status and update that status at the same time.
