Linking Data Sources

Sometimes when you are creating an application in SharePoint Designer, you want to combine the data from two different data sources into the same view. The most common method for this is creating a join in a SQL query to create a data source that shows items from two SQL tables. With arbitrary XML data, however, creating a join like a SQL join is a very complex task. To make this task as straightforward as possible, SharePoint Designer lets you create data sources that join other data sources from any of the groups in the Data Source Library. When it’s time to insert views of these sources, you will be prompted to map the columns that match to create a meaningful relationship.
