Summary

In this chapter, you learned two major improvements of the newer 2.x versions. OpenSIPS has become one of the major platforms used for flexible, high-performance, and high-volume SIP processing and routing. Cluster features such as binary replication are unique in the market and fundamental for this type of operation. On the other hand, asynchronous operations emerged to solve a very old problem of system blocking by slow I/O operations. This feature is key for the stability of the platform. OpenSIPS continues to evolve quickly and these are a few improvements that the platform has received since the version 1.x.
