You know those clickbait articles promising the “50 Best Web Design Resources,” which are quickly revealed to be selling some design service? The resources described here aren’t that. Rather than fill a book with a bunch of links, I’ve included the single best resource that I have found on each given topic, with a brief explanation of what makes it great.

Responsive Data Visualization

The resource: responsivedatavisualization.com

What makes it great: This is the website half of this book, so you’ve probably already familiarized yourself with it. Resources from previous chapters, example code, and exercises can all be found here, along with links to plenty of other resources not listed in this appendix.

Grids

The resource: thegridsystem.org

What makes it great: Not only is the site built on a grid, but it holds years’ worth of articles on grid systems in design, on the web, and throughout history. Resources available on this site include Adobe program templates, CSS guides, downloadable prebuilt grids, and tutorials on how to build your own grid.

Infographic Design

The resource: coolinfographics.com

What makes it great: Randy Krum, the technical editor of this book, is the author of the Cool Infographics blog. It’s the source for inspiration on infographic design, with a wealth of examples of data visualization and infographics from magazines, newspapers and the web.
