WHAT IS

A STAKEHOLDER?

We often use the term “stakeholder” to refer to the members of your invisible team. A stakeholder is a person, team or organization that has a “stake” in the success of your team. In other words, they have an interest in your team. An interest may range from being closely aligned with the success of your team, to making sure that you follow certain rules, to benefitting in some way from the work of your team.

Stakeholders may:

•  Have a keen interest in seeing that your team succeeds

•  Hold resources that the team needs in order to accomplish its goals.

•  Provide assistance the team needs.

•  Use the products or services that result from the team's work.
