Project Initiation Process

This process identifies the steps required to begin the initiation phase of a project. Information is gathered from the project customer to begin a project scope statement, create a preliminary project plan, update the estimated project budget (if required), and complete a CAR (if capital funds are required). Specific skill requirements for the project are also identified at this time to help select the right project team members. These documents are reviewed and signed off by the PMCoE, project customer, and sponsor to obtain approval to proceed to the planning phase.
