Post project reviews are critical to the continued improvement and growth of project management practices within any organization. Unfortunately they do not occur as often as they should, with "not enough time" or "the next project is already started" the common excuse. Post project review meetings are as critical as readiness reviews before the project begins. Establishing project management best practices cannot be done without incorporating lessons learned to improve the methodology, processes, procedures, tools, and templates.
