Personalization Cycle
Personalization is one of the steps in creating an online virtual community. It provides a means for users to express their preferences and mold the content and appearance of the portal. Portal administrators can monitor usage patterns and identify further opportunities to enhance the user experience, thus increasing user satisfaction. This virtuous cycle can be repeated endlessly during the life of the portal (Figure 8.1).
