Monitoring strategies

In this section, we will take a look at the monitoring strategies that will make microservices observable. It is common to implement the following or more strategies to create a well-defined and holistic monitoring solution:

  • Application/system monitoring: This strategy is also called a framework-based strategy. Here, the application, or in our case microservice, itself generates the monitoring information within the given context of execution. The application can be dynamically configured based on the thresholds or trigger points in the application data, which can generate tracing statements.
