Technology adoption is not easy when it comes to monolithics. It poses certain challenges. Security, response time, throughput rate, and technology adoption are some of them. It is not that this style of architecture does not fight back with solutions. The challenge is that in monolithics, code reusability is really low or absent, which makes any exercise an expensive affair to implement.
