Chapter 6: The Relationship Development Curve

While it is true that the relationship approach is the means to an end and not the end in itself, the journey is where lessons are learnt, relationships are built, problems solved and insights gained. Yes, the end goals are important. Like bookends, the two anchor points, the current state and desired future state provide the boundaries of the process. They provide the purpose and focus around which the journey can be taken. But the real joy is in planning for and taking the individual steps, and sharing the pain and the gain along the way. This is what journey management is all about.
