To say React revolutionized front-end development would not be an understatement. React introduced new concepts that other libraries and frameworks have copied. For instance, Vue.js also implements a Virtual DOM and supports the JSX syntax in its templates.
However, Angular has very much fallen behind the pack. The Angular team have stuck to the "Angular way" and have not moved alongside the community. Dare I say, their best is past them; the best they can do is play catch-up at the moment.
