Summary

This chapter dealt with the concept of mesh networks and how Bluetooth mesh networks are beneficial over conventional Bluetooth Low Energy. ZigBee was discussed as a competitor of Bluetooth Low Energy in mesh technology. We then had a brief introduction to security complications in Bluetooth mesh networks. The goal of this chapter was to provide you with a practical approach, so you can implement your own project. Therefore, the CSRMesh API was discussed in detail, where we saw a step-by-step approach to implementing Android control for a CSRMesh network.

In the next chapter, we will learn another practical implementation of BLE, an Internet-Bluetooth gateway using the Raspberry Pi 3.
