Without an optimized architecture that is built on a standardized portfolio, with standardized interfaces, the cloud provider will not be able to effectively provide at an attractive price the quality of service (QoS) and the level of agility required to keep its cloud consumers happy. Conversely, a cloud consumer of shared services doesn’t need to know about the underlying cloud infrastructure, but should be aware of the available services and the resource model exposed in the GUI or API.
