Introduction

Building collections is at the heart of digital repository work for most practitioners. Identifying potential projects, making connections with content owners, building partnerships, working with objects, launching new projects, and continuing the long-term maintenance associated with collections are the bread and butter of repository work. Even so, it is important to have a good mastery of digitization techniques.
