One of the cool things about tinkering is that—get this—it can be a paying gig. And those projects pay real money, not just product trade or couch change.

I’ve completed some projects for some really awesome companies. If you’d told me a few years ago that I’d one day create prototypes that the likes of Adobe and MailChimp would be interested in, well, I’d have probably laughed. It seemed so out of the realm of possibility. But in today’s connected world it’s the norm.
