Other information useful to have about a Data Center is metrics—measurements taken regularly to determine how the room functions over time. There are a lot of data points that can conceivably be collected about a server environment. Some are crucial, while others are simply items of trivia.

To get some perspective on the performance of your server environment and the incidents that happen in and around it, keep a log of Data Center-related events.
