Layout, Cabinets, and Cooling

Filling your Data Center with more and more air handlers isn't the only way to address heat. How you arrange items in the server environment—not just the cooling infrastructure but also the server rows and different types of floor tiles—as well as what types of cabinets you deploy can have a significant effect upon how air circulates and where cooling is directed.

The most straightforward solution to reducing heat in a server environment is to simply spread everything out. Allocate more floor space for the Data Center, make aisles wider between server rows, and don't tightly pack equipment into server cabinets.
