Testing and Verification

Once all of your Data Center's electrical components are installed, have the electrical contractor conduct a series of tests on the entire system to make sure that the infrastructure performs the way it is designed to. The tests should include the following:

  • A load bank test— This involves placing an electrical load on your standby power system to make sure that your UPS or generator components or both can support the level of power they are designed to. The first part of this test checks the maximum capacity of the standby infrastructure, while the second portion confirms the runtime of the UPS.
