Dealing with Obstacles

Unfortunately, infrastructure components are not the only things you have to be concerned with when designing your Data Center. Like it or not, your server environment also unavoidably contains a variety of obstacles. Most are characteristics of the building you are in—oddly shaped floor spaces and support beams, for example. You want your Data Center to be as productive as possible, so your goal when laying out the room is to use obstacles to your benefit when you can and minimize their presence when you cannot.
