With the approximate size of the Data Center in mind, it is time to figure out its footprint and where to locate the Data Center within the host building.

Square or rectangular shapes are the most conducive for a server environment. Square or rectangular shapes provide consistent boundaries in which to place large Data Center elements—air handlers, power distribution units, and server rows—that are square or rectangular themselves.
