Wrap-Up

We have given our awesome PC’s brain both short-term and long-term memory, and we’re so close to flipping the power switch to bring our creation to life. If you’re impatient, you could do that now if you have an HDMI-compliant display (any modern flat-panel television will do) via an HDMI cable connected from the display to the rear I/O HDMI port on the graphics card. But I prefer to have all the parts installed before experiencing the thrill of victory or the agony of defeat. So if you can, hold off plugging in the computer for just a little while longer.

In the next chapter we will install a high-end graphics card that pushes real-time image processing to the limit. We’ll also take audio reproduction into consideration. Only a few ...
