A lot has been written about psychometrics, much of it with the intention of helping candidates understand the types of items they will face in undertaking psychometric tests. This book shares that intention with the aim of giving candidates a broader feel for the entire setting in which tests are used and helping them relate to that setting, for instance in thinking about how to conduct themselves when receiving feedback on tests. As a test user and one who advises clients on the results of tests, I have often been struck by some of the misconceptions that candidates hold and how they sometimes fail to see the testing process in the round as part of selection or recruitment.
