Conclusions
You cannot learn management from a book, but you can gain
a better understanding of why some things work and why other
things can be almost guaranteed to fail. You don’t have to imple-
ment everything immediately just try out some new ideas and
see if they work for you.
I have only scratched the surface in a number of areas, such as
marketing and business strategy, and hope you feel motivated to
continue reading other books about these topics.
The job of a manager and leader is pretty daunting. This book
tries to show how critically important the lower levels of man-
agement in an organisation are to the financial health of the
organisation and the well-being of its staff. One of my purposes
in writing this book was to give managers greater pride in their
jobs. After all, brilliant management is easy to understand but
very hard to do.
Good luck!
