Chapter 3

Very often we say yes because we think we should. These ‘shoulds’ are frequently the keys to shifting our behaviours. They come from the rules we are exposed to from birth until now and are often strongest from what we have been told to do during our upbringing, education and in the earlier stages of our professional lives.

None of us was born with these rules in our heads. We learned them from others and put them together from our own life experiences to date. Some of them serve us well and others less so.
