This book is dedicated to Rob Veltre, Jr., my boss, coworker, and good friend of 13 years. Every interaction designer hopes for an enlightened, C-level champion of design within their organization. Rob has been that for me, living his mantra: “Build the thing right. But first, make sure you build the right thing.” In an engineering-centric company, he was the one who best understood the value I brought to a project and how to make the most of it. He supported me when I needed authority, and he pushed me when I needed to stretch myself.
