Change Default Settings for Additional Privacy

If you were connected to the Internet when you ripped your CD library, you probably noticed that even when ripping your oldest CDs, Media Player was able to retrieve the album name, album art, year, genre, track numbers and titles, and more. That’s because, by default, Media Player is configured to retrieve additional information about ripped music from the Internet and add any missing information it finds. And it can almost always find something about the CD you’re ripping! In addition to obtaining this type of information automatically, Media Player also looks for updates to the player, downloads codecs (data needed to play certain media files), and downloads media usage rights.
