Chapter 2. Set Up Windows Vista, and Create an Organizational System

  • "Clean house" first, and transfer only the data you need from your old PC

  • Adhere to the built-in system for saving files

  • Create a system that allows for easy and daily backups

  • Create and use a search folder to keep data easy to find

Think about what it’s like to move into a new home or apartment. (Caution: analogy coming!) Your new space has so much potential, and you have so many ideas to make the place comfortable, organized, uncluttered, and user-friendly. The layout of the place helps you get started too; for instance, you know you should put beds in the bedrooms; sofas and recliners in the living areas; and stereos, game stations, and TVs in the media room.
