One of the most appealing features of AIR is that applications written with it do not need to look like a web application. Existing outside the browser offers a level of creative freedoms that have never before existed for web developers. The Flex framework provides a robust API for controlling the look and feel inside the application window, which is available for applications that run inside or outside a browser.
