What Is Killing Entrepreneurs?

THERE'S A LOT TO DO in building and maintaining a successful brand. As you go along this path, you're going to want to be sure you're focused on the right tasks and you are getting things done. Let's be sure you're set up for success. You want to create an environment and schedule that allows you to be super productive.

It has been said that multitasking actually lowers your IQ more than smoking marijuana. I'm not sure who did the research on this study, but I'm sure they had a good time. I know people who actually brag about their ability to multitask. Multitasking is not very efficient. Focus on one thing and one thing only. You'll be more productive and more efficient, and as a result you'll be able to consistently implement and follow through on your branding campaign.

Earlier I mentioned how distractions and interruptions are going to be the death of entrepreneurs. Every day you allow interruptions is a day closer to you being out of business. You have to stop allowing yourself to be distracted. When you get interrupted, it takes your mind almost 20 minutes to get back to where you were when you were distracted. This means if you're interrupted five times a day by an unscheduled phone call, e-mail, or whatever, that you are wasting about a hundred minutes every day. And I'm going to guess you allow yourself to be interrupted more than five times per day.
