Warning: You've Been Lied To
YOU'VE BEEN LIED TO. I'm sorry for that, but it wasn't me. You've been told for years that there's no such thing as an overnight success and that sometimes in business you have to pay your dues first. That is not completely true.
Most of the people who say those things and think that way are slow. They are slow to take action. They are slow to implement. They are slow to make money. They are slow to reach success. That's not how you want to be, and that is not how you should be.
I have certainly paid my dues. I have experienced years of setbacks, mistakes, failures, embarrassment, and even shame. I have also experienced incredible success. But I never sat around waiting. I never took on a “these things take time” kind of attitude. If you have that attitude, I suggest you start working immediately to get rid of it. It's poison.
So many entrepreneurs take things slow when building their brand and business. They have the “Rome wasn't built in a day” philosophy. I get what they are saying, but remember that Rome was built. They completed it. They did not sit around wasting time thinking, “These things take time.” They got off their butt and worked.
What's your attitude about time? How long will it take you to get your brand where you want it to be? The amount of time it takes to establish a solid brand in the marketplace is completely up to you. It can take a short time or it can take forever. It's your choice.
