Video Made the Internet Star

VIDEO MAY HAVE KILLED THE RADIO STAR, but it created the Internet star. Using video in your marketing is without a doubt one of the most effective ways to build your brand and increase your online presence.

Today's world has grown up with video. We're conditioned to watch it. We're conditioned to share it. There's an endless number of ways to use video in your business. You just have to decide which approach is best for you.

Video has high perceived value and allows your audience to get to know you better because they get to see your personality in action. Video is also extremely easy for your audience to share. It's also pretty easy for you to make.

You don't need a fancy studio with lights and props to make a great video. It can be as simple as recording the video on your cell phone and uploading it to the Internet in a matter of seconds. Here are a few ideas on using video in your marketing that you can implement right away:

  • Video testimonials: I touch on this later in Chapter 28. A testimonial captured on video is one of the ultimate forms of proof. A great way to get some testimonials on video would be to offer people something of value for doing it. I once held a video testimonial contest. I had clients film a video testimonial on their own and upload it to YouTube.
