AFTERWORD TO THE PAPERBACK EDITION
“I bet there are some sentences in Born Digital you wish you could take back,” the prominent rhetorician Liz Losh of UC-Irvine said to us recently. “Especially about Second Life.”
We were at a symposium where some terrific researchers were critiquing what we had written in the first edition of this book. The conversation had turned to the challenge of writing books about a topic that is changing at a dizzying rate. Losh is herself the author of the fine book VirtualPolitik, which examines the way that the government uses the Internet and how that changes the way citizens interact with the state.
