Chapter 10. AWT

IN THIS CHAPTER

The Java language contains a toolkit to assist in the construction of user interfaces. This toolkit, called the Abstract Windows Toolkit (AWT), is powerful enough to create functional user interfaces. User interfaces are not easy to build by hand, but using both the AWT and the Screen Designer helps make the process easier. Using the Screen Design a developer can design a user interface, using AWT, graphically. For more information about the Screen Designer, see Chapter 3, “Employing the JBuilder Designers.”
