Application Desktop Toolbars

Application desktop toolbars, also known as AppBars, are windows that can dock to one of the edges of your screen. You're already familiar with AppBars, even though you might not know it; the shell's taskbar, which you probably work with every day, is an example of an AppBar. As shown in Figure 16.4, the taskbar is really little more than an AppBar window containing a Start button, notification tray, and other controls.
