In this recipe, you learned how to integrate NPM and Bower into our .NET Core workflow. You also learned how to set up Visual Studio to compile CSS from Sass, and how to tweak the result of compilation by adding custom variables, and thus tweaking the standard Bootstrap 4 styles.
Although there is a lot of complexity in setting up Visual Studio itself, the general process should be quite familiar, as we have gone through a similar workflow in a number of recipes in this book.
