Chapter 9. Using Multiple Logical Volume Managers

While application requirements may necessitate the use of more than one logical volume manager (LVM) in an enterprise or datacenter, the use of more than one LVM on a system should be avoided. It has been our experience that the most common reasons for implementing multiple LVMs on a single system stem from a misunderstanding or of misconceptions about the products being implemented.
